Revolutionary Creations

Recently I discovered that the domain was available, so I bought it with the goal of recreating as much of its original content as possible from archived pages. I did not want someone else to purchase the domain and re-purpose the site for something that had nothing in common with the original RevolutionaryCreations.com website. Consider the information on this site for historical purposes as well as keeping alive the journalistic works of Thomas Deer. Tommy's commentaries in the Frontline section are political in nature and focus primarily on the issues of indigenous peoples and world events.

I am familiar with the Mohawk Nation at Kahnawake which has land based gaming activities: poker rooms and raffles. What is interesting they also have a Kahnawake Gaming Commission website, which has a link to their interactive gaming sites. Kahnawake was one of the first jurisdictions in the world to recognize the opportunities afforded by the interactive gaming industry. Since then, the Commission has licensed and regulates a wide range of interactive gaming sites. I enjoy online gambling at a few online select US casinos, but I plan on looking up some of their affiliates, if I can find them, just to see what they offer to the online player. In the US during 2006 the US government passed the UIGEA laws that limited options for US online casino players. Even though it is NOT illegal for an individual to gamble, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act did create obstacles and limitations when it comes to finding online casino USA player-friendly sites because a player could not use their credit card to either add money to their online casino account or to with draw money via a credit card. Ten years later, funding and receiving winnings are no longer an issue at most online casinos. In fact the casinos often direct their promotions at US players. What a difference a few years makes.

If you are visiting Montreal, I suggest a visit to Kahnawake. Last year I was attending a conference in Montreal and several of us decided to go to their Kaienthóhkwen (Harvest Festival). I was sure glad I had brought my new North Face ski jacket on the trip since the weather was unusually frosty. I've been buying North Face jackets for years and I must say, they never disappoint whether it's a hoodie, vest, parker, rain jacket, shell, or a serious Summit jacket. High tech, innovative, beautifully designed, and I love the brands philosophy of making their product by improving our environmental performance and social responsibility in the supply chain. The festival was a great learning experience and a nice break from the conference. Sorry, but I digress.

Apologies that I was unable to find most of the images that were once posted on the site. I have left "placeholders" showing where there would have been images.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAGE CONTAINS SELECTIVE ARCHIVED CONTENT FROM THE ORIGINAL SITE.

Ontario Provincial Police attack Haudenosaunee in Six Nations

At times, there are serious issues that need to gain exposure. Revolutionary Creations, as an Indigenous company, would like to take this time to inform visitors of the violent attack upon the Haudenosaunee People at Six Nations. We have posted some of the press release from that have been issued by Haudenosaunee authorities throughout the Confederacy.  For more on the Reclamation Occupation at Six Nations, check out www.reclamationinfo.com

For Immediate Release

Mohawk Nation at Kahnawake – (Onerahtóhkha/April 20, 2006)

On April 18th, 2006, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council at Grand River announced that the Governments of Canada and Ontario have pulled out of talks concerning the recent land repossession at Caledonia, ON.

With talks abruptly ending in this manner, it became apparent that the Government of Canada was not interested in seeking a peaceful resolve to this issue and have elected a violent imposition of their will.

At approximately 4:30am, the Ontario Provincial Police launched a violent attack upon occupants of the repossessed Haudenosaunee territory at Caledonia.  The occupants there were unarmed and peaceful.  Upon learning of this violent attack, the Rotisken’rakéhte of Kahnawake mobilized to discuss security measures to prevent any further violence in Caledonia and Grand River.

It was resolved that the Rotisken’rakéhte at Kahnawake shall establish defensive vigils at each entry point within our territory in support of our brothers and sisters at Caledonia.  We wish to make clear that this is strictly a defensive measure to ensure that no further violence is initiated by the Governments of Canada and Ontario upon our people.

The Rotisken’rakéhte at Kahnawake urge the Governments of Canada and Ontario to stop any further plans to invade our territories.  Furthermore, we insist on the Government of Canada to return to talks with the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council to resolve this issue in a peaceful manner.

For more information, please contact the Mohawk Nation Office; Secretariat for the People of the Longhouse at 450.632.7639.

Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake stand by Reclamation Occupation at Caledonia

For Immediate Release

Mohawk Nation at Kahnawake – Onerahtókha/April 30, 2006

The Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake offer greetings and thanksgiving. On April 20, 2006, at approximately 4:30am; the Ontario Provincial Police launched a violent attack upon occupants of the repatriated Haudenosaunee Territory at Caledonia. The occupants there were unarmed and peaceful.

This unnecessary and insensitive measure to use violence is deplorable and intolerable, and is reminiscent of the brutal force used against our people during the events at Ipperwash in 1995, Kanehsatake in 1990, and Grand River in 1924 when the RCMP removed the traditional Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council by force of arms.

The Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake desire a peaceful resolve to this issue and implore the Governments of Canada and Ontario not to employ any further acts of violence or aggression upon our people. We feel that this is the best way to ensure the safety and security of everyone in the area.

The Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake would like to also take this opportunity to announce its full support for the reclamation occupation at Caledonia. Moreover, the Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake standby the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council at Grand River as the legitimate governing authority of Oshwé:ken. It must be made clear that only through talks with the Haudenosaunee Six Nation Iroquois Confederacy can the wrongs of the past be made right.

The Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake call upon other Haudenosaunee nations and territories as well as Indigenous Peoples throughout the world; to stand in solidarity with the people of Grand River throughout this reclamation occupation.

In the meantime, the Haudenosaunee at Kahnawake are on alert in order to monitor the situation at Grand River and to assist to ensure peace remains.
